This photo shows us that Alaknanda and Bhagirathi come together to form the Ganga, and these two rivers originate from different places. Alaknanda originates from Satpuranth, and Ganga from Gangotri (Gomukh). Alaknanda is generally called 'Sas' and Bhagirathi 'Bahu'. The place where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet is called Devprayag. From here, both merge to form the great Ganga river.
